My Day

January 5th, 2016 at 07:26 am

Hmm.. another quiet day, mostly at home with a little housework and lots of no spending.. teehee :P

Another no spend day, but did need to use the car to drop miss to the go see a movie with her nan.

I am happily swagging away (Swagbucks, a survey site), and waiting til 7 comes around til the swagbucks new day rolls around to start again in earnest. If anyone is interested in doing surveys for giftcards or paypal cash which can then be transferred to a verified bank account, please comment below and we can chat Smile

Or if you already do surveys, which ones do you do and which do you find are the most valuable to you?

I tried SwagBucks last year but found it is not good for time poor people! I decided that I would just budget and accumulate snowflakes in other ways. We still saved/ repaid debt of just over $10000 so that was a good result.

I don't have a lot of spare money atm, and things aren't looking like improving anytime soon.. so I am trying as many income sources as I can.. this is one of those. Plus with a lot of discipline and willpower I will also be saving what I can this year from my no spend and various challenges.. For me, this covers my gifts for the year and postage costs Smile

I found Swagbucks to be too tedious, too, and I was having problems with them paying me what I had earned. (Apparently I didn't verify according to the RULES.) So I've quit that site. I do Pine Cone surveys, and I do the click-throughs on MyPoints. I don't do MyPoints surveys because I never qualify, and it's a waste of time to go through the process.

I do Swagbucks as well - generally just the few quickie things and then I double up on my search - I'll type something into SB, and then copy and paste into Bing to get points as well. I usually do about 30 searches (all in a row, it takes very little time) to get the max Bing points for the day, and I usually hit the SB search points somewhere along the way. Mostly, though, I try to maximize the shop and earn when I can. We bought our honeymoon vacation through Groupon and got like 27,000 SB by enabling the SB shop and earn. Now every time I'm going to make a purchase, I see if I can get it through SB first Smile

I use Swagbucks. I had kind of let it go for the last half of last year, but I started up again in earnest for the new year. I want to buy an aerogarden from BB&B or Amazon, so my goal is to get enough gift cards through SB to do that. I also do Pinecone. I used to do ACOP, but they can be very slow to pay out.

Years ago when I was under-employed, I did Pinecone and other surveys but I think there are far better ways to earn a few extra dollars. The surveys are so tedious. That being said, I've continued to do a few different "forums" where you're only expected to do a minimum of 4 surveys a month and then you earn $10 a month in Amazon gift cards. One forum was for AARP but it recently ended after a number of years there. I also do a forum for Citi credit cards where they're asking you a bunch of questions about how you use your credit cards, etc. I'm not honestly sure how you get into one of these forums or how you get an invite. I think I learned of them through my regular participation in the Pinecone surveys.

For me, another better way to earn money was by carefully choosing credit cards where you could earn $100 to $250 to $500 after charging a certain amount to the card in the first 3 months of opening, usually. This would likely not be an option if you don't have good credit or don't have the discipline to pay the bills in full each month though. It's not hard for a single person to earn $1,000 or more from credit card bonuses each year, and I know MonkeyMama usually does much better with her husband.

I don't believe they are a waste of time. I do consider them another income source, and I'm all about looking for extra income sources.. that on top of saving is a sound strategy for when lean times hit I feel.

And if you're underemployed, then they are an excellent way to make an income from your house!

I've used Swagbucks for a long time - at least 5 years. This last year I earned about $700 in giftcards and PayPal. Some of it was from Shop & Earns, some from CC rewards, some from monthly bonuses, etc.

Do you do PerkTv? That's another place I have been earning a $25 AGC about every 3 -5 weeks (depending on how consistent I am.)

My computer is in the dying stage. I don't know how much longer it will last. So I'm putting away the AGC money as much as possible, and saving real cash as well - for a new computer!

Yes i have perk tv but its ridiculous trying to get anywhere and i reckon ill be lucky to net more than $50 for the year lol.

I don't have a credit card that i can get rewards from and when i enquired at my bank lately, because im only working casually, they wouldn't give me one anyway, so that option is out.

And on sb, shop and earn, ncraves and ngage and lap top guy and tank top girl are all not available in my country..
so it limits the earning capacity but i am trying hard to get what i can! Aiming for $50 month from sb if i can manaage it. Plus some money from a few other survey sites, so hoping for a good year. My surveys earnings are going to go towards the gifts and postage costs for the year and if there's any left over i may have room for a small splurge on something for christmas for myself..see how I go.

Ah, that definitely limits your easy earning potentials. Those things are all where I get the majority of my SBs from.

I still cant find out where to add blogs to my favourites? It says to click add to favourites on the top of a blog page, but there's no such option?
