I'm back!!

Life is busy, time goes quickly. Here we are in March and I've only just remembered I was going to track my spending here more this year.. lol

Well things are going super well here. Only spending on essentials and saving for 15 things at once each pay. Saving up for booklists, back to school and new school shoes etc, saving for my 40th birthday party later in the year, saving for lots of things and have actually in the last ftn started a fun and freedom account (something to not touch for a year or two and use for future financial gain and/or for future fun.

We have a large drop in income coming and I am still only working casual hours so that's not going to make things very easy but I will manage like always, hence being prepared, putting $ aside for future bills and the things I want to do like the birthday party.

So far for the year, travelling along well and I am happy.

I have also been giving my whole house a declutter, purge and sort. My sister came down and stayed here and we did long days. My daughter also helped heaps.

Starting to feel a lot lighter and less stressed overall. This is a huge emotional change for me too Smile

Life has changed course again

Hi all, hoping to come back and blog a bit more, but I am taking away the 2017 no spend because I am in preparation mode atm to prepare for a huge change in income and payments and want to get ahead for the rest of the year to help prepare.

So I am finalising any more commitments for the rest of this year and starting on the organising and stockpiling for next year.

Going to edit my author info to reflect my plans for the last 1/3 of the year.

Hope there are still followers when I get to next year. Thanks guys

My first perk tv payout!

February 11th, 2016 at 02:24 am

Hi. I cashed in for my first $10 paypal payment for Perk a few days ago and I received my paypal payment this morning. Due to conversion rates, my payment ended up being $13.74.

My surveys money has a whole bunch of jobs/allocations it has to go to. I was going to consider my Perk income to go to something like my mobile phone bill every month or my paytv bill, or save it up and buy a new pair of runners every year or something.

Just wondering who else does Perk and how many devices you run from your accounts? and how often you manage cash outs and what do you cash out for?

Finished a gift

Hi, sorry for my absence. I have been super busy.

I have managed to finish two dishcloths for a present for this year.

They are in some of the fave colours of the recipient, so I am sure she is going to love them, and I will include some washing instructions, and perhaps even make her a drawstring laundry bag made out of curtain lace fabric to wash them in (if i get the time).

My Day

January 5th, 2016 at 07:26 am

Hmm.. another quiet day, mostly at home with a little housework and lots of no spending.. teehee :P

Another no spend day, but did need to use the car to drop miss to the go see a movie with her nan.

I am happily swagging away (Swagbucks, a survey site), and waiting til 7 comes around til the swagbucks new day rolls around to start again in earnest. If anyone is interested in doing surveys for giftcards or paypal cash which can then be transferred to a verified bank account, please comment below and we can chat Smile

Or if you already do surveys, which ones do you do and which do you find are the most valuable to you?

No spend and free Fun Day

January 4th, 2016 at 08:20 am

DD and I took friend's stuff to the op shop, friend came with us to drop it off and then we took her to the supermarket to get a few things and I resisted the urge to buy anything.

After a cuppa at friend's house, we went to the library. DD borrowed two young adult novels and 3 dvds and I borrowed some Handmade and Homespun magazines, a few dvds and a John Grisham novel to try.

While in the library, Miss 13 said "Mum, why are you letting me hire all these things." I told her that everything was free to borrow from the library and she asked me why hadn't I taken her before. I used to when she was very young, but she didn't remember. Needless to say we will be going back together regularly. I love free entertainment for the whole family!

Today..

January 3rd, 2016 at 05:42 am

So..what have I been up to today?

The answer is very little lol. Managed some basic housework and watched some shows on tv.

After yesterday's exhausting day, I have needed a quiet day, some down time and a break from the nagging and such. The good news is that DD has been a lot more settled today and has been eating the fruit she chose at shopping yesterday and generally being nice, this makes a nice change to the norm.

I've managed another no spend day today, and hoping for much the same tomorrow at this stage. I need to find some change to add to my $1 a day jar so I will have to owe myself for that, and will have to work out what payments are going towards my other challenges this week and pay them in before payday on Friday.

Dinner tonight is pasta which is leftover from last night's dinner, which is good meaning I don't have to cook.

Groceries

January 2nd, 2016 at 03:54 am

Took DD to the stupidmarket for some fruit and good snacks to eat over the holidays, she chose what she wanted to eat and now she's already whining that she can't eat my junk food snacks that I saved, when she ate all of hers in one sitting the other day when it was hot.. tough kiddo lol

Grocery list:
3kg oranges, 2kg bananas, 1kg nectarines, 1kg apples, cheese, milk and wholemeal bread, a salad mix in a packet and a box of cruskits

Total $27
